Thrillers
audiobook production.

Make the next chapter impossible to ignore.

A thriller’s momentum comes from control, not simply speed. We shape the narration around escalating stakes, changes of perspective and moments where the listener needs time to absorb what has happened.

A VOICE THAT FITS THE BOOK

The right performance changes how the words are heard.

Audition contrasting passages: quiet suspense, action and dialogue. Listen for clarity under pressure and the ability to change intensity without losing the text.

We cast to the manuscript and the creative brief, with auditions where required. Author reads, professional narrators and multi-voice productions each need a different plan. Your producer helps turn those options into a clear decision before the full recording begins.

BUILT FOR THIS KIND OF BOOK

A considered process.
A coherent audio edition.

01

Prepare the manuscript

Supply a viewpoint map, timeline notes and pronunciations. Identify rapid scene changes and any document or message sequences that need an agreed audio convention.

02

Direct the performance

Audition contrasting passages: quiet suspense, action and dialogue. Listen for clarity under pressure and the ability to change intensity without losing the text.

Agree a sample and carry its creative decisions through the sessions, with preparation and breaks planned around long-form performance.

03

Edit and proof with care

Balance momentum with intelligibility and consistent character voices. Check pickups in context so corrections retain the emotional level of the surrounding scene.

The technical finish follows the agreed delivery specification, with organised files and a clear process for approval.

A USEFUL FIRST CONVERSATION

Bring us the book.
We’ll plan the production.

You do not need to arrive with every production decision made. A representative sample and a clear indication of the intended release will give us a useful starting point.

BEFORE YOU COMMISSION

Thrillers audio,
with the details considered.

Does a thriller need constant fast narration?

No. Variation gives action and suspense their effect. The production should preserve the author’s rhythm, with enough space for the listener to understand the stakes.

Can you produce the whole audiobook?

Yes. The service can cover manuscript preparation, casting, direction, recording, editing, proofing, quality control, mastering and delivery. You can also commission a defined stage. The scope and review process are agreed in your quote.

How is the price worked out?

Send the word count, manuscript status, number of readers, title count and target delivery date. Narrator fees are quoted separately. Multi-reader, full-cast and immersive work receives a tailored quote; distribution is an optional, separately quoted service.

Can the author or publisher attend remotely?

Remote direction and monitoring are available. Agree the participants, connection arrangements and review responsibilities before recording so the team can prepare the session.

Will the audiobook meet my distributor’s requirements?

Provide the intended platform or distributor specifications when you commission the work. We agree the mastering, chapter organisation and delivery requirements for your project. Production does not by itself guarantee retailer acceptance or publication.

Where are the recording studios?

London Audiobooks is based at Academic House, 24-28 Oval Road, Camden, London NW1 7DJ, within the wider Fitzrovia Post facility. Contact the team to discuss dates, access requirements or a studio visit.
